When you see cabinets in track homes, even those upscaled, you will notice that almost all of them are finished with tinted lacquer applications.

For stained finishes on wood cabinets, most contractors use tinted lacquer and apply maximum 2 coats, which gives only 2 mil of thickness. In aggressive kitchen environment this kind of finish deteriorates in a very short time, it blisters and cracks at joints, and get dissolved by human sweat and grease in heavy use areas. In many cases and after a short time, sprayed lacquer cabinets need extensive repair or total overhaul, which both could be very costly.

At Dream Cabinets by Stan, we employ for stained applications, a traditional way of doing it and use only high-quality products available on today’s market. After thorough preparation involving cleaning with TSP, sanding, blending damaged areas with existing finish, we hand-apply 2 coats of oil-based and urethane enriched gel- stain to get a desire color and depth. Then we protect finish with 2 coats of acrylic polyurethane for a smooth, washable, durable and lasting finish. Sanding between coats is a part of application to ensure proper adhesion and smooth finish. Call or text Dream Cabinets by Stan at 760-310-7570 to schedule an appointment and learn more about our services and products. You will be thrilled to see what can be done with our unique application. There is no other stain that could come even close to oil-based and urethane enriched gel-stain. It’s amazing how our finishes can be touched up even by unexperienced homeowners. Gel-stain is the only stain that can be used for refinishing cabinets if you want to keep beauty of wood grain and color whereas sprayed stains look like painted applications and only have poor imitation of wood look.
